ATV
ATV
San Felipe is a border between the desert & the sea, so naturally off road enthusiasts and nature lovers make up a significant number of visitors here. You'll see & hear dirt bikes, ATV's and dune buggies pass through town headed for the desert or the nearby sand dunes at the southern edge of town. This is the transport of choice for many people staying on the outskirts of town. Rentals are available in town. We recommend enjoying the surrounding area, but please show a healthy respect for the fragile desert environment.

The Baja 1000, 500 & 250 also pass through or nearby San Felipe. Sponsored by Score International Racing, these racing bring a festive attitude to town.

Fishing
Fishing
As a town which once relied solely on fishing, fishing is fantastic in San Felipe. The Sea of Cortez has an abundant variety of species of fish some of which are halibut, corvina, dorado, and sierra just to name a few. There are a number of pangas (boats) for hire to go fishing. Be sure to wake up early if you do decide to go fishing.

Tennis
Tennis
Our homes in the gated community of La Ventana Del Mar come with access to 2 tennis courts. Free tennis lessons.

Valley of the Giants
Valley of the Giants
The Valley of the Giants, a forest of huge cadon cactii about nine miles south of San Felipe, Baja, Mexico attracts tourists through sheer intimidation. There's something almost Jurrasic about a 50 foot tall cactus. It looms and throws a morning shadow the size of a football field. Its cathedral height seems almost sacred as it silently watches centuries of history unroll at its feet.

Horseback Riding
Horseback Riding
There are presently two locations you can rent horses. First, in San Felipe, rides are usually offered on the beach beside the Malecón. Just look for a man with a small bouquet of horses in his hand (at the end of the reins, of course). The other place is Pete's Camp, about seven miles north of San Felipe on the east side of the highway. A small stable of horses is kept on the north side of the access road. Just park beside the paddock and look for Jesus.

Banana Boats
Banana Boats
What IS a banana boat? When you see one, you don't have to ask. But for those of you who aren't standing on the shore here, it's a long, yellow, soft, buoyant gizmo in the shape of well, a banana. You can't really call it a boat. It's not self powered. It has no keel, frame, sails, motor, tiller, cockpit or anything like that. It has places to sit, well above the water line, and places for you to hang on. Hanging on is what banana boats are all about.

Nightlife
Nightlife
San Felipe is a great place to spend time with family and friends. There are lots of restaurants, bars and cantinas waiting for you. Some of those places in San Felipe are Beachcomber, which has been a favorite night spot for both locals and tourists. With the capacity to entertain more than two thousand, the Beachcomber offers something for everyone. Other popular night clubs are Rockodile Bar and Nightclub, Rockodile first opened its doors to the public and began setting the standard by which all other Baja nightspots would be judged! With over 16,000 square feet of pure entertainment, overlooking the beautiful Sea of Cortez.

Cachanilla Swap Meat
Cachanilla Swap Meat
The Cachanilla Swap Meet is the place to be early Saturday morning if you're looking for a bargain. Need hand-painted tiles for the bathroom? A blue hammock for the porch? How about an old VCR movie or potboiler adventure novel? And don't forget those Tupperware containers you've been trying to find. The swap meet has them all. And much more.

The Cachanilla Swap Meet has been assembling at the grounds around the Cachanilla Club House for years now. It begins in October and runs until the weather warms up at the beginning of June. The meet has grown from a few tables of Americans selling their tired and untreasured seconds to the now hundred or more tables of second-hand-goods, plants, produce trucks, art work, used clothes, Mexican crafts, old tools, bakery items, T-shirt racks, Mexican blanket stacks, bouquets of hammocks, tables of books and nearly anything else you can imagine.

Konsag Island - Isla Consag
Konsag Island - Isla Consag
Plainly visible from the bay and reachable by boat in about 45 minutes, Konsag Island in San Felipe appears to look like a sail at first glance, it is often reffered to as the "Konsag Rock". The island offers a large population of sea lions, seals, and many species of marine birds. Its located 22 miles off the coast of San Felipe in the Sea of Cortez. The fishing near the island is some of the best fishing you will find anywhere.
