To get to this dreamy vacation rental, you’ll drive through the most beautiful parts of San Felipe Mexico and into the gated community of La Hacienda. This two-story home makes quite the statement when you pull up, combining classic Mexican architecture, big windows, and a bold front door with sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez and mountains. There is plenty of parking in the driveway and a spacious two-car garage for extra room.

When you walk through the first exterior door you’ll pass through a sunny patio area, complete with winding sidewalks and hand-painted murals. There are a few steps that lead to a small, shady patio space and right up to the front door of the home. Once inside, you’ll immediately notice the high ceilings, open-concept floor plan, and red-tiled staircase that leads up to the main living areas. Beach-inspired murals in the entryway help you slip into (and stay in) vacation mode. When you reach the top of the stairs you will be in the main living room, a sunny space complete with comfortable sofas, high-backed chairs, handcrafted furniture, and gorgeous tilework. Exposed wood beams, hand-painted tile, glass accents, and large windows overlooking the property. After a day at the beach, the whole family can spread out here, enjoying easy access to the kitchen and plenty of room to relax. There is a flat-screen TV right above the fireplace, perfect for hosting movie nights or watching your favorite shows.

Sliding glass doors lead from the living room out to the expansive private balcony. This covered space featured beach murals by local artists, comfortable outdoor lounge furniture, and lounge spaces that are both in the sun and the shade. The shady part of the balcony is perfect for eating dinner together with a view, while the sunny spots are great for pulling out a sun lounger and working on your tan. The private terrace seems to go on and on forever, creating a one-of-a-kind outdoor space where you can play music, dance, eat, drink, and take pictures with the beautiful mountains in the distance. Throw your favorite meat and veggies on the grill and use the outdoor kitchen to prepare and cook meals for your family.

The living room flows right into a beautiful kitchen. This recently updated space has an ocean-blue half island with four high-top chairs separating the living room and kitchen, creating a comfortable space to put drinks and snacks out for the whole family. Early birds can brew coffee in the coffee maker and start their morning out on the rooftop terrace, and night owls can use the microwave and stove to whip up a midnight snack and enjoy it in front of the flat-screen TV. The kitchen has drawers and cabinets full of utensils, dishes, kitchen gadgets, cups, mugs, wine glasses, and other kitchen essentials. Swing by the local grocery store and stock up on your family’s favorite foods and keep them stored in the full-size refrigerator. Hand-painted tiles pop against custom wood cabinets, and the tiled counters are home to small gadgets like a toaster, blender, gourmet knife set, coffee maker, and spice rack.

There is an additional dining room space tucked right off of the kitchen. Sit together at the glass top table and enjoy a family-style meal, or prop open your laptops, connect to the Wifi, and get some work done before heading down to the beach.

Two of the four bedrooms are located on this level. Tucked off of the main living room you’ll find two spacious bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with a King bed and private balcony access. These bedrooms are bright and airy and have everything you need to unpack your suitcases and make yourself at home. In between both of these bedrooms are another bathroom with a walk-in shower, two hand-painted sinks, and a walk-in closet.

A door at the rear of the home, right off of the kitchen, leads to even more outdoor entertainment space. Follow the tiled walkway to another red-tiled staircase that leads you to the rooftop deck. Up here you have unobstructed views of the resort, the water, and the mountains in the distance. This space can be used for an early morning workout, as an sea front office space, as a dance floor, or as a romantic date night restaurant. From here you can look out over San Felipe and experience the true natural beauty of this quiet fishing village.

From this central living space, you can walk back down the stairs toward the front door and explore the main level. Here you’ll find two spacious bedrooms and a full bathroom. One bedroom has a Queen bed and one has a King size bed. Both have soft linens, authentic tilework and Mexican decor, and beach-themed artwork. Both bedrooms have dressers, private closets, and sliding glass doors that lead to the patio. The full bathroom on this level has two unique hand-painted sinks, a walk-in shower, and soft towels.

From this home, you’re just a short drive from local grocery stores, beachfront restaurants, local boutiques, popular fishing spots, and the beach. One of our favorite restaustrants in town is La Cabana restaurant. This should be on top of your list for fine dining.
